Original script for the video "Learning to Swim with the Hands and Feet Tied (or Glide Swimming): a step-by-step approach." Good morning! I’ll be teaching you how to swim with the hands and feet tied or glide swimming. A. First, we will do the foot-ward movement. 1. First, have the hands push up over your shoulders. Spread the legs apart while the feet do the pedalling motion. 2. The hands may also do a variation: a hand frog kick. 3. (For the meantime, you may also opt not to put rubber bands on ankles—just have an extra effort to keep soles together.) The hands are still free but cross thumbs and the hands are still doing the push-up. 5. Now try to keep your palms together. 6. At this point, you may now put rubber bands on your wrists. B. We are done with the foot-ward movement. Now we will go to the head-ward movement. 1. We will still have our feet joined by the rubber bands. The hands do the elementary backstroke. 2. With the elementary backstroke, you open your palms. Now we will close it so that the cause of the movement will not be much more of the hand but instead more of the gliding of the body and the action of the shoulder blades. 3. When you have mastered it, try to press your palms together and move head -ward. 4. Now we will place rubber bands on our wrists. I’ll demonstrate the head-ward …
